About Allison's Practice:
Are you feeling stuck, discouraged, helpless and not sure how to turn your life into a more positive direction? Do you have addictions that you want to overcome? Is it hard to stop those negative thoughts? We can work together to improve the quality of your life. I use a strength-based, non-judgmental approach including teaching mindfulness and deep breathing skills. I can also help you address addictions, deal with chronic health issues and stress-reduction.
I am also passionate about helping caregivers deal with symptoms of compassion fatigue. What makes you sensitive to caring for others, whether it’s another person or a pet, can also make you susceptible to compassion fatigue. I also work with people who are suffering from pet loss/bereavement.
I have been writing pet-related articles for St. Louis Health & Wellness Magazine, Metro Pet, and I’ve been a regular guest on the Health & Wellness Live radio show, speaking on caregiver stress-related issues, animal-assisted crisis response and the use of therapy dogs, among other topics. I also speak about compassion fatigue to animal rescue/welfare groups and shelters.
