About Jed's Practice:
Positive change. Feeling better. Increasing happiness. Realizing higher levels of well-being. Building and maintaining fulfilling relationships. These are the goals. My ideal clients wish to enter a collaborative relationship in which we discover and explore those intrinsic and extrinsic strengths and characteristics that can be used to create momentum towards lasting, positive growth. I welcome individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents looking to improve the quality of their lives and realize a greater sense of overall well-being. My practice is geared toward counseling clients facing a wide range of life's challenges while raising clients' baseline of happiness.
I employ an integrative approach to counseling that involves a systemic, contextual view of my clients' lives. Drawing from Positive Psychology, Narrative Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other scientifically-based approaches, I use a client-centered approach that is appropriately tailored and fine-tuned to meet client needs.
I worked for 3 years as a Chemical Dependency Counselor in both an inpatient and outpatient setting, with both adults and adolescents. While I acknowledge the importance and effectiveness of 12-step recovery programs, I am also comfortable working with those who seek alternative methods of sustaining sobriety and well-being.
