About Heidi's Practice:
I have been practicing as a dietitian since 2010, focusing mostly on eating disorders, sports nutrition, and weight management. As a dietitian, I focus on using balanced whole foods to help people meet their optimal health states. I am a firm believer in food's natural ability to prevent and manage many disease states. I try to incorporate real foods into the diet, and not said "diet" foods. But in saying that, I do not think that any food is off limits. It is all about making peace with food and allowing ourselves to have the foods we crave and not having any negativity associated with food. While many experts in the nutrition field advise clients to cut out particular foods from their diet, I help clients say "yes" to foods instead of "no."
My philosophy is really about empowering the individual to make their own diet and health choices. I believe changing the way we eat is a lifestyle change, not something that happens over night. I would like to think what I teach helps people instill healthy habits forever. I am here to offer my extensive nutrition knowledge, to promote a healthy lifestyle, and encourage individuals to achieve their nutrition goals. I also firmly believe that every individual is unique, so I tailor my nutritional approach to each client's personal goals and comfort level. I offer meal and exercise support for those clients who may benefit from it. Nutrition is my passion, but exercise is equally as important. I focus on functional movements through bodyweight and simple strength training exercises. I believe the combination of nutrition and fitness is the key to a balanced lifestyle.
