People often seek out psychotherapy because something in their life is not going as smoothly as they would like it to, whether that is dealing with a mental illness, adjusting to a transition, or managing life stressors. The focus of my work is to partner with people to help them make sense of difficult emotions, challenging relationships, or overwhelming life circumstances. I believe that through developing insight into why we react in particular ways and acquiring more adaptive, effective coping strategies, we can often find our way to more fulfilling relationships and greater satisfaction in our personal and professional lives.
I am passionate about delivering culturally competent, research-based treatment that is supportive of the many aspects of diversity that contribute to one's identity. I believe that all therapy should focus on providing care "for the whole person." Therefore, I work to help my clients develop and refine their strengths as well as to alleviate the symptoms that might initially bring them to treatment. I specialize in working with adolescents (15 years and older) and adults.
Please feel welcome to call or email me with any questions about therapy in general, or my work specifically!
